Add ability to use Brother or other (non-Dymo) printers
I absolutely love KidCheck, but I HATE working with the Dymo printers. This is the second church I have worked with that I have had Dymo printer problems. The printer is constantly not working, and parents are always messing up the printer paper by ripping off the stickers. I recently bought the Brother QL-810W wireless printer which is so easy to use and can be completely cordless, and cuts each sticker for you. I think KidCheck should really invest in making more machines compatible with the system, because I almost changed check-in systems providers for problems with the printer being my main reason of wanting to switch.

Ian RobbinsI just wanted to echo the problem with Dymo printers. We switched all of ours over to Brother QL810W and am much happier. We currently are using these with Breeze - our church management software. We are considering upgrading our child check-in functionality, but if Kidcheck would require us to go back to Dymo printers...we may need to look for an alternative...don't ever want to go back.

John AdminThanks for the comment Ian. We are actively working on adding support for Brother printers. Thus far we've only had hands on with the QL-800s in testing, but the drivers and underlying machinery is the same as the QL-810W's so they very likely will work as well. We're still testing and getting everything in place, but we'll keep people informed as we continue to move forward.

Harold NguyenHi John,
Does the support for Brother QL-810W still require an expresshub/hardwire connection for it to work? -

Darrin Hovde AdminYes...we have not enable the app to work with the Brother Wireless as then we would have to enable the Brother able to communicate to KidCheck app which we can't control. Thanks
